Broken Record

Before I get to the point I just wanted to say that I rocked the talk I had to give in church! I got so many "good job"s and "it was wonderful"! Maybe they were being polite, maybe I did do awesome, but personally I'm just glad it's over!

So back to the hustle and bustle of my life! Just kidding, my life is going in patterns! I finish a series of either Grey's Anatomy or Private Practice then start all over again... Every spare moment I'm watching tv. I am a lazy sac. For those of you who don't know me, get used to it.

Super short post but my life keeps going in these stupid tv patterns. Hence, broken record.

Livin' the Busy Life

Long time no write!

So guess what?
I. AM. BUSY.

Last post I wrote about University and job worries. So lets add some more things to worry about.

Money! A problem for most people. Yippee. I have decided to go to Greece and Italy. No not permanantly (I WISH) but for a wonderful 10 days. I will be touring Athens, Delphi, Sorrento, Rome, Capri, and Pompeii. It does cost about 3,000 and I'm going with a group, but it should be an experience of a lifetime either way. Which brings me to problem number dos. (#2 for my non-spanish speaking folks out there)

Remember when I was grumbling about not having a job? BOOM! I have 2. I work out at our local golf course (Magrath Golf Club! It's the best!) picking balls off the range and parking carts. Doesn't it sound exciting? It's not that bad. The people I work with are the best. They are super great and a bit on the humorous side! My 2nd job is working for a lady in town. She is the one who decided on planning this Greece/Italy trip. She offered me a job to help pay it off and I am EXTREMELY grateful for her! I tutor her son (sometimes 2 of them depending on the day) every weekday for 2 hours. Sometimes the days seem to just drag on but they are both good boys. I babysit when she needs me to and run errands with the boys. I just try to help whenever I can because every dollar I work for goes toward my trip.

I've never realized how exhausted I can get! I have to keep up my lawn, babysit my little sister, do a bit of housework, work at the golf course and for the lady in town. A couple of nights ago I came home from the course (9:30 pm ish) and was asleep before 9:45. I slept until 6 then got ready for work again.

I've solved the University problem! Yay! But my dearest mother doesn't want me to go. Not like that. She wants me to go to school but she doesn't want me to go to the school I want to go to. Grant MacEwan in Edmonton is where I would like to go for 2 years, then transfer back to Lethbridge. I worried about not finding a roomie? My bestfriend Hallie wants to go there too! AND we would have a place to stay if my mom actually lets me move up there. So my loner and University problems are solved... I just need to get the Wicked Witch of the West of Magrath (my mother) on board.

On a more recent note... MY COUSINS ARE COMING TO CANADA TODAY!!! Every year my cousins come up from Utah for our town celebrations! It's usually a big whirlwind of where to put everyone and wanting to visit and catch up, but HEY! I'm not complaining! For a full week I get to chill with my cousins that I only see for THIS week each year! Oh! Did I mention there's 20 of them? YUP! We are slowly growing!

I love visiting with my cousins but to add a cherry on top of my oh-so-busy schedule... my bishop asked me to give a talk. on PATRIARCHAL BLESSINGS! oh joy. I think it has something to do with the fact that I'm supposed to be getting mine super soon! i'm supposed to get a call! Ahh so excited!

So if you see me over the next week... give a reassuring smile or a thumbs up to show me I'm not in over my head!

Happy Magrath Days!

TO THE FUTURE!!!!

HELLO! So I've been trying to study for a Bio exam tomorrow and my little sister is blasting her Barbie Princess CD. oh joy. Anyway, lets take a break to BLOG! YAY for study breaks.

This semester went way faster than I thought it would. Saying that made me realize that I only have 3 semesters left of high school. EVER. I'm actually really nervous for college. or University. Don't even know which one. I want to go to the University because I'm already accustomed to the U of L, but I have to go to the college for 2 years. Also, I already appplied for a scholarship to the U of L but it won't let me use the money unless I am going to the U right after Highschool. Oh well.

My mom said that she would pay for my medical school if I really wanted to become a doctor. I've thought about it and the idea still sounds good to me and intrigues me, but I'm not smart enough. I don't feel smart enough. She also said she wouldn't let me get married until I finish. That's like 8 years! I'll be 26 by the time I'm done. No judging on sterotypical answers, but the idea of being a healer and helping people actually makes me want to be a doctor so bad. Not to mention it doesn't pay that bad either. I think that nursing is a good option though. I'll still get to work in the medical field and help.

My feelings about graduating next year literally confuse and scare me to the point that I actually cried. once. only once. I'm scared that I won't find a roommate or that I won't get accepted to any schools (even though they accept almost everyone) or that University is going to be too hard and I fail. Just thinking about the humiliation of failing makes me nervous.

We had a family friend come by to chat and drop off a treat today. She told me that I would do really well in nursing and that she could see me doing that. WHOOP! Gave me a motivational boost.

Study break over folks. Get back to your knitting. or in my case, studying.
sometime in the future I will tell you about my job hunting (ugh)

I Love To See The Temple!

So today was such an awesome day! I got out of school at 12, cruised around with GLEE musica playing, and then went to the CALGARY TEMPLE OPEN HOUSE!

I've already been to the Calgary Temple but this time the whole Magrath Stake Youths were going up! And the best part about it is that we didn't take cheese wagons... We got to take those huge buses that are for like travelling and stuff! Good job Stake, way to class it up! :) So the ride up was pretty fun, I guess. I sat alone because, well, I'm a loner. Just kidding, I'm selfish and I wanted to stretch out and have my junk in the seat next to me. The 3 hour trip was so fun. Imagine being on a bus with friends all around you and just having a good time... We even got cookies as a snack. BONUS! So my ward, 5th ward, and Welling got paired up as bus buddies and we had a great time!

The temple is SO beautiful! Like it is even more stunning than the first time I went, and it was pretty amazing the first time around. The rooms are so detailed and elaborate, the furniture is custom and don't even get me STARTED on the chandeliers! They were huge, crystal-ly, glittering (I really mean glittering), rainbow catching, and really fit for a queen. So beautiful!

So I'm sleeping over at my Aunt Wendy's tonight! She watched Janet while I went to Calgary. (thank you)!. Okay, so I got to her house and the door was locked but her light was on so I walked over to the window and BOOM! I almost fell into a pit. Story of my life. She had some flooding and water damage so they had to fix the pipes. I almost fell in the hole they dug. So I ended up sort of being scared because I'm reading The Lying Game and I thought there might be a dead person in the hole. I've read too many mystery novels and watched one too many episodes of Castle... Whoops. So I waited for about 5 minutes before someone opened the door.

Inside, we visited for a bit then she asked me to sleep over. I was going to stay a couple minutes to chat then sleep at home, but no one's there and I would probably wet myself because I'm too scared someone's going to kill me on my way to the bathroom.

Last little tidbit of my day... My friend Spencer B. told me that our other friend Jon K. bought JUST DANCE 4!!! I'm so super stoked because me and Spencer are the high scorers and we BATTLE!!! boom! I won the last one. just saying. We're probably going to hang tomorrow with the herd. They call themselves the NERD HERD! Pretty catchy right?

gnight xoxo

i heart books!

Ever heard of the book series, The Lying Game? It's about this girl named Emma who has been passed through foster homes her whole life because her biological mother abandoned her. She is doing pretty good until she sees this video online of a girl. Who looks EXACTLY like her! She looks up this freaking imposter and figures out they have the same birthday and they're identical, but this girl lives a fabulous life. See where this is leading? If you don't I'll just tell you! SECRET LONG LOST TWINS! Her name is Sutton.
So Emma wants to meet her, but Sutton's dead. Emma has to BE Sutton because a note was left on a car telling Emma that if she didn't, she would die too.
I'm going to stop there and let you read them yourself. But I seriously looooovvvve these books. I totally read them out of order though. I accidentally started with the 3rd then went to the 4th then the 1st then the 2nd. Messed up. I know. Oh well.

So I've realized this week that I've had to put much more effort into my schoolwork than I did last year. Last year I got things done during school and things made sense. Now I have to actually review over stuff that we've learned so I can get answers and stuff. Not that the curriuculum is hard, it's just there's so much information that it's difficult to comprehend! ARGH!

And Halloween's coming up! New post coming soon!

Blogging, Memes, and Sundays!

I've realized lately that I need to blog more. Like WAY more. I could make up excuses like "I've got a lot of homework" or "I'm too busy" for why I'm not writing... but really? I'm just super boring and never have anything to write about. My new pact is: Blog at LEAST twice a week, even if it's boring. So you'll be getting another blog from me pretty soon.

Another thing I've realized is that I'm obsessed with looking at funny memes. I could honestly read them for hours. I think that the cat ones are so hilarious (I blame my sister Kim for this)! Truthfully, I really don't like cats. But cat pictures sure do get some giggles out of me! Some examples:

So my Sundays usually consist of 4 things. Getting ready, going to church, family dinner, and a nap. Today was an exception. I got up, went to family dinner, watched some LDS General Conference, then went to a movie. I feel really guilty because I'm not supposed to go see movies on Sunday but, it was SUCH a great show! PITCH PERFECT! It was so amazingly funny and the songs were GREAT! Okay so, not very guilty but still, just a little bit...

So the President of the Church, Pres. Thomas S. Monson, totally dropped a bomb on all the LDS people planning on serving missions. Usually the men go on missions at age 19 and the girls at 21, but now he lowered the age! The men can go at 18 and the women at 19! I'm so glad that he did because it gives more people the opportunity to learn about the gospel! I'm so grateful that he did this because most women are preparing for marriage and finishing school around the 21ish 22ish age. Some women didn't want to have wait that long to have the privilege to serve a mission. Now they don't. THANK YOU PRES. MONSON!

I hope everyone has a super duper Thanksgiving! Show your gratitude by making a list of 20 things you are thankful for! And if you have more than 20? KEEP GOING! Happy Thanksgiving everybody!
